Winter Snow Strikes the East River Esplanade

Being able to see the water surrounding our island can be quite a task when white sand covers your route.

The East River Esplanade path with snow

Despite the legs climbing hills of collected snow in the streets, this trip was most soothing. The cold was not a problem as long as the hands were tucked inside. Just the pure snow scenery, as opposed to mixed in with dirt elsewhere, was worth the trouble traveling here.

If the eyes didn’t know any better, this could’ve been confused with shaved ice; so soft and delicate in the hands. Oh yes, the hand had to come out. Surely for one day, this secluded area turned to the white Arabian landscape… if you overlook the large body of water nearby.

Even the benches nearby were not safe for sitting. Yes, I tried…. but for the cause of photography. Certainly, you believe Steve.

But even with the blinding white around, it was balanced by the small patches of toned down color of nature. This bush nearby specifically was yelling on top of its lung, “look at me”

Having spent over an hour, a lil’ birdie landed on a barren tree & gave that look: one where Steve had overstayed his welcome. Not wanting to anger the creature, quickly packed my bag & started moving the opposite road.

Nonetheless, glad spent a few moments in this small oasis.

PS: Heck, this year’s snow ignited this conversation. One would wonder who’d want to deprive Steve of his snow… the Chinese … them Chinese girls.
